She earned a Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in Exceptional Student Education from Florida Atlantic University in 1997, in order to pursue a career in Speech/Language Pathology. Robin has worked with both adults and children with communication disorders, focusing on speech/language and swallowing disorders in the geriatric population.
Robin discontinued working in October 2004, when she was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer to focus on her health and family. Her cancer was discovered when she was 37 after a routine mammogram and with no family history. Since Robin’s diagnosis, she has become passionate about helping others who are not as fortunate as she was and do not have the support she had while going through her illness.
Robin has been co-chair of School Teams for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for two years, and was honored as a local “Komen Warrior” by the Komen Cancer Research Foundation. She is married to Stephen Malasky and they have two children.
